Due to the popularity of our painting courses, we are pleased to let you know that Guanghwa Bookshop has organised a further weekday on-site painting course which will start on Friday 29th May from 11:30 to 13:30 - How to paint Foxgloves ( 毛地黃 ), Sweet Pea Flowers ( 香豌豆花 ), Dahlias ( 大丽花) and Small Birds or insects.
This course will run every Friday for six weeks, with each lesson being two hours. The venue is at the bookshop, and we will provide the materials.
Full six-week course: £96
Flexible option: £18 per session
Please note: the flexible option is for those who cannot commit to all six sessions. You will still need to book the dates and pay in advance to secure your place for the sessions you wish to attend. Drop-ins on the day are not available.
• Topics: How to paint - How to paint Foxgloves (毛地黃), Sweet Pea Flowers (香豌豆花), Dahlias (大丽花) and Small Birds or Insects (小鸟或昆虫).
This course is suitable for Beginner and above Level.
• Time: 11:30 to 13:30
• Dates: 29 May, 5 Jun, 12 Jun, 19 Jun, 26 Jun, 3 Jul.
• Painting Tutor: Mr Jian Chu Xu
Mr. Xu started to learn Chinese calligraphy in 1980 under supervision of late calligrapher Mr. Laoyun Yu who was a famous Chinese calligrapher. Mr. Xu is the chairman of the Chinese Poetry Calligraphy & Painting Society of UK, Honorary Principal of Shifu Art College of China. He received an excellence award in the Chinese calligraphy competition UK in 2011 and a special award in the international Chinese competition in 2014.
