Two Days Chinese Art Workshops on Saturday 19th and 26th Sep at Guanghwa bookshop

Hello Everyone,
 
Due to the popularity of our art workshops, we are pleased to let you know that Guanghwa Bookshop has organised two days Chinese painting and calligraphy workshops on Saturday 19th and 26th September
 
There will be four sessions altogether: the cost for each session is £25. If you join all four sessions the total cost will be £96.
 
The Venue is at the bookshop, and we will provide the materials for the workshops.
 
• Session One: The Morning Painting Workshop on Saturday 19th September from 11:30 to 14:00.
Topic: How to paint Pandas and Bamboos. This session is suitable for Beginner and above Level.
 
• Session Two: The Afternoon Painting Workshop on Saturday 19th September from 14:45 to 17:15.
Topic: How to paint the famous Chinese artist Wu Guanzhong's style of painting landscape - Water Town. This session is suitable for Beginner and above Level.
 
• Session Three: The Morning Chinese Calligraphy Workshop on Saturday 26th September from 11:30 to 14:00
Topic covered: The history of the evolution of Chinese calligraphy. How to hold the brush and use inks to practice strokes on grass paper in order to be able to write characters (calligraphy). This session is suitable for a complete beginner.
 
• Session Four: The Afternoon Painting Workshop on 26th September from 14:45 to 17:15
Topic: How to paint Peonies and Peacocks. This session is suitable for Beginner and above Level.
 
Painting and Calligraphy Tutor: Mr Jian Chu Xu
Mr. Xu started to learn Chinese calligraphy in 1980 under the supervision of late calligrapher Mr. Laoyun Yu who was a famous Chinese calligrapher. Mr. Xu is the chairman of the Chinese Poetry Calligraphy & Painting Society of UK, Honorary Principal of Shifu Art College of China. He received an excellence award in the Chinese calligraphy competition in 2014.
